exit from archiveThe final of the Premier/Pure Fishing event will be held on Saturday 15th September 2007.
The event will take place on The Glebe fishery at Peckleton and at Mallory Park, which will include the Foundation Lake, and provided all places are taken (120 anglers), the Big Lake at Mallory inside the race circuit.
Practise: Having qualified you will be given the opportunity to come and practise at Mallory Park Fisheries. A guest day ticket fee of £10 is required, so contact Roy Marlow on 07711 711650, and arrangements will be made to cater for your needs, complete with all information.
Don’t think that the local anglers will have a massive advantage, as with so many pools and lakes being used on the day, many members of Mallory Park Fisheries will not have extensive knowledge of each and every peg … if you know the tools of your trade you will bag-up!
Pay Day! Each section will average around 10 pegs (pools & lakes vary in size), so win your section and you will win several hundred pounds … wow! Grab the highest section weight, meaning that you will have won the event overall, and an additional five grand comes your way … the drinks will be on you!!
There will also be a plethora (that means ‘lots’!) of brilliant tackle prizes provided by the main sponsor, Pure Fishing.
Headquarters: This will be the Lakeside Café that is situated inside the famous Mallory Park Race Circuit. (So don’t expect to draw your peg at The Glebe!)
Directions: Directions to Mallory Park can be found here. Select ‘Mallory Park’ as your destination and type in your own postal code. You can have a print out of your route within seconds.
The circuit will be in use on the day for a small race meeting, so qualifiers need to go through the main gates (look for the statues) and park in the Anglers’ Car Park, walk over the footbridge into the centre of the circuit, turn right and venture over to the Lakeside Café (approx. 200 yards). Everything will be signed on the day and location maps will be issued at the draw to make life easy for the anglers.
After the match and weigh-in, anglers and officials should return directly to the Mallory Park Lakeside Café, where stewards will direct you onto the race circuit proper and into the car park directly outside the Lakeside Café. DO NOT do a ‘lap of honour!’
Grub: The excellent and acclaimed Mallory Park Breakfast will be available from 7.30am, but there is no need to gulp it down, as there will be a rolling draw from 8.30am. Light refreshments and a licensed bar will be available after the match.
Bring a Friend: Mallory Park Fisheries will also use this fantastic event as an open day for visitors, so bring your friends along, or even the missus!
All of the Mallory Park Fishery rules are listed on the website, but if in doubt then ring Roy Marlow, as the rules will be strictly enforced.
