What a great start to the 2006 season! The weather has been glorious and our fish have now nearly all spawned. Many of the silver fish look in a poor state after spawning but they are getting better by the day and the lakes have been fishing brilliantly.

Glebe pool 1 was won with 159lbs on Sunday with Kev Russell taking the honours and several other members having over the ton. Gordon Parker won pool 6 with 138lbs and it was a close event on pool 7 with Alex Bones weighing 146lbs.

Pleasure fishing weights have been staggering with many members having record catches. Pretty fish pond saw its biggest fish ever landed on Sunday an 18lb carp and Uglies has produced some big catches of quality carp.

Pools 4 and 5 have been excellent with loads of good skimmers as well as big carp in pool 4. Pools 6 and 7 have also been brilliant.

At Mallory the Foundation Lake has been awesome along with the Large Lake in the Trees. The Big Lake has not been fished a lot yet due to the race meetings, however on Saturday the Duncan clan caught in excess of 300lbs.

Keith Hovis Hudson smashed the three hour night match record last Monday with 225lbs, Robber Marlow was second with 155lbs.

Hundreds of our own bred small carp are being caught at the Glebe - please treat them with care as these fish will provide brilliant winter sport.
