1. Ghost nets and harsh nylon nets are not permitted. Only soft fish-friendly nets are allowed. Please note that nets that have 'carp fishery approved' or 'legal' on them might not be soft fish-friendly nets. Please look on the Angling Foundation for more information. Your nets do not have to have Angling Foundation labels but they must be soft fish-friendly nets.
2. Keepnets are only allowed in official matches.
3. In official matches at least two keepnets are required; one for carp under 2lb and all silver fish, and one only for carp over 2lb. The net limit is strictly 100lb and you may need three nets. Please try to spread your fish between nets if you are catching well, this aids weighing in.
4. As soon as you get to your peg you must put your nets out behind you so that they get a chance to dry and so that they are exposed to as much ultraviolet light as possible. This will help destroy any SMS or KHV present on your nets and will help protect our fish. Tell your neighbour that you have put your nets out. Five minutes before the start of the event the all-in signal will be given - position your nets only after this signal and ensure that your neighbour has observed you adhering to this rule. It will possibly only need one angler to not follow this rule to result in a total wipe out of all our fish.
5. No barbel are to be kept in keepnets. They do not count towards your total catch and must therefore be returned straight to the free water. Anglers with barbel in their nets will be disqualified.
