Sunday 14th June 2009

The opening event on the Glebe amassed some very big weights from all of the lakes. Overall winner was Max Higgot with 211lb. Every lake fished exceptionally well and there was the usual banter to keep everyone on their toes. Well almost everyone, Dave Colkin wanted to be in the limelight and decided to attract attention by diving in fully clothed with his tackle. Members rushed to his aid and quickly rescued his tackle, and then naturally help Dave out of the water. His fishing colleagues gave Dave a 9.3 score for his dive. The platform has now been repaired. One of his mates said, 'The reason the platform collapsed was because it gets fished the most, it is the best peg on the lake', now that's a little hurtful.

Robber Marlow would like to point out that he was under massive pressure from Kev Russilli on the next peg on pool 6 and that's why it was a poor performance. You may notice that Mr. Ward's name is absent from the results; we should mention that he was fishing in the match.

This was the first event towards the Master of the Glebe final to be held on September 20th and to qualify you have to win your section. We have a long way to go.

Bob Eaton has made an official complaint. The water level in Glebe Pool 1 has been raised 3 inches and Bob will now have to scrap 300 pole rigs, that's 10 for every peg on Glebe Pool 1 as he now has not got enough line on them.

Rich Morgan

These events are very popular and the fishing is varied and interesting. Rich Morgan caught one of our three large Grass Carp that are in this lake. It weighed 11lb 4oz. Well done Rich - a great fish.
