exit from archiveThe fishing continues to be awesome along with some great weather. Massive weights and some fantastic fish are coming from all of the lakes. Sunday June 28th saw the second round of the Master of the Glebe qualifier, the final to be held on Sunday September 20th. To qualify you need to win a section, you can however get through by default. Remember you must also fish at least four matches to qualify for the final.
There have been plenty of steward’s enquiries already and some new rules must be introduced. Although this instance did not happen in this event one of our members who we could name because independent witnesses were reliably present. Your committee has decided that it could be embarrassing to print the name so we will have to use an alias name. On a Wednesday evening event at the Glebe, the unnamed anger weighed in his catch; the problem was the smell from the silver fish net was overpowering. Further inspection revealed two very dead skimmers. These two fish were in advanced decay and the committee reckoned weighed at least 4oz. The said angler who we will just call 'the smuggler' to save embarrassment denied putting the fish in his net during the match and a string of reasons including 'it was the aliens' were given. Your committee has suggested that this unnamed angler be carefully watched in future events. We will not name him other than below to say he won section 2 with 94lb 4oz in the list below.
We have many serious anglers in our club and the first suicide watch notice of the season has been issued. On the Saturday prior to this event Gary Sadler was seen practicing on Glebe pool 1 peg 30. He was heard to say that he would like to draw the same peg on Sunday as it was solid and thought the peg could not be beaten. Gary got his wish and has you can see it was beaten. You will also notice that the tree adjacent to the peg has been severely pruned as the branches had to be quickly cut down so that the rope could be removed. Has anyone seen Scot Brown recently? If anyone has any spare change could you please give it to Chris 'Jew Boy' Needham as he is having a bad run and to get a pass-out he has to tell his wife he keeps winning. She knows this when he comes home with a Chinese meal for her. He has now run out of money and the best she may get is Rich Bedder's very dead fish.

Dagga's energy snacks come in MacThrees
And from Dagga Ward - Will everyone stop saying that Graham Barry has been stabilised with his new medication and asking where his carers are. Judging from his pathetic performance in last Sunday's club match, which he organised, I can say that the medication is not working, as he was just about last as usual. Also I have been accused of being a pig when it comes to eating my snacks that I need to keep me going when fishing. I want to say on record that this is not true and I do not eat much at all when I go fishing.
