Sunday 24th June saw the first of the Mallory Park Fisheries qualifying rounds for the Premier Fisheries/Pure Fishing Championship.

The members opted for the highest weighing four section winners to go through to the final and it was a close event. Many of the sections were split by only a few pounds between each angler.
Here is a run down of the top 3 placings in each of the 7 sections:

The four qualifying anglers were:

Stu O'Donnell 158- 04
Jeff Rest 148 -04
Andy Kind 142 - 02
Various tactics worked with Rich Morgan and Jeff Rest catching on paste and Andy Kind on corn. All fished the pole and Stu O'Donnell caught on the feeder.
Over a dozen anglers had over 100lbs of fish and failed to qualify. This event must have been one of the closest fought matches of the weekend. Five lakes were used and every section required well over 100lbs to win. Every competing angler received a spool of 4lb Berkeley Sensation line and the four qualifiers all received a top of the range Abu feeder rod, courtesy of Pure Fishing.
