STOP THE PRESSES - Dis Honest Jim Chessman
Honest Jim Chessman had a great day on Sunday at the away match at Packington. He won his first event with our club with 38lbs. He was so excited he phoned home and told his wife to open the champagne. His wife did not believe this could be true but his kids did believe him and opened the bottle.
It was such a major achievement that the whole family turned out and the celebrations went on well into the night. The party became so big, due to all of the neighbours, local press and TV, and other celebrities joining in to congratulate Jim that the village had to be closed off, as there was no room for anyone to park. Confidence is now so high a new case of champagne has been put on ice in anticipation and the suppliers have been told to stock-pile further shipments.
We understand that Jim, who is now Dis Honest Jim, failed to mention he had to buy everyone a Magnum Ice Cream for being dishonest with his weight. He was only wrong by 23%. It must have been all of the excitement. At this rate Jim will eventually be a professional, sponsored international angler, like Chris Downes.
