exit from archiveEaster Monday match report provided by Kev Russell:

Andy Kind isn't drawn his usual end peg
Thirty one anglers obviously hadn't had enough punishment in the arctic weather conditions the previous day. It was business as usual at the draw with ACE Chris Downs drawing another flier, only one peg from where he had won on Sunday. Andy Kind pulled a face when he realised that although the peg he had drawn had produced 100lb the previous day it was not his usual end peg. His mate John 'the spod' Duncan though was running to his peg, number 85. He said ' if the Muppets can catch that much I'll have 200lb'!!!!

Happy, Bob Conway and Grumpy
On pool 4 Bob Eaton had drawn peg 73 and was going to see if Dom had put in enough effort the previous day. Chris Allen, it must be mentioned, had also drawn an end peg. I had drawn peg 15 and managed to freeze my bits off for 5 carp, I must be as mad as Roy says I am!!
The first section on pool 1 was skilfully won by Matt Hall with 40lb next to ACE, who came in second. Stu O’Donnell had a last gasp carp for third just edging out Rich Bedder. The second section was won by Steve Conway who put Sunday's blank behind him to put 68lb on the scales. Just behind was Paul Gardener with 55lb, half of which were small carp. In third was Ian Saiger with 47lb. Down on pool 4 there were questions to be asked as Bob Eaton battered everyone out of sight with 88lb from peg 73!! Chris Hall had a better day than Sunday on the same lake, taking 35lb for second. Chris Allen was third.

Nasty (R) to Nasty (L)
Pool 5 again threw up the big weight, Ringo made no mistakes with top weight on the day with 105lb. Andy Kind was second at the next peg with only a third of Ringo's weight. At the other end peg John 'the spod' was third with 21lb, allegedly he is looking for work on Sesame Street with the other muppets!!!
Down on pool 7 reports from 'robber' Roy had not been good initially, but very late in the match he had phoned me to say he had caught three really fat carp, he added that they didn't look like any of the anglers fishing and obviously had more brains being able to avoid him for so long. It was Gary Miller that would win the lake, drawn on another end peg, he took 50lb to the scales. Robber's fish went 35lb, and the anglers weighing in swore they resembled someone. Dom was in third, he apparently made a sharp exit before Bob could have a word!!!

And finally there were a few absentees from Monday's match, noted were some excuses. Mr Ward had run out of coffee as 'robber' had drank it all on Sunday, allegedly he had gone to a big field to talk to some lawn mowers all on his own!!

Ringo and Bob
Scott Brown allegedly had no bait. This, according to Mr Bates was due to his Sunday dinner fiasco, the Sunday joint ended up in the dog bowl and he had to serve baloney and sweet corn sandwiches instead!!! It's anyone's guess how he burnt the joint.
Mr Clayton was unable to give an excuse but the rumour was that he had gone 'plundering the fodder' with his mate Andy T.
There is a match on Sunday 30th and a Monday afternoon knock up on the last day of the season. Also if you are a member please don't forget there is a work party on the first weekend in April - there are jobs of all sorts to do.
