exit from archiveThe suicide police are on stand by after Sunday's fishing event. Three lakes today, Mallory Big Lake, Foundation and Glebe pool 1. Another great turnout, with 56 anglers taking part.

Paul Jarram
Mallory Big Lake was the scene of a near suicide; Dagga Ward drew old peg 36 ½, next to the island alongside the big willow tree. I have been asked to point out by Ruthless Russell, who sat next to him, that this peg has won more matches than any other on the lake.
With a classic motorcycle race meeting taking place this meant an ambulance was parked behind him. After about four hours of constant moaning all went very quiet, the paramedic, fearing the worse went to investigate. It was a wise move; Dagga had found a razor blade in the grass and was contemplating nasty things. After some counselling and removing of all sharp objects and, pointing out that things could be much worse, Dagga calmed down and watched the race meeting. He finished up with the lowest weight on the whole complex, but won the honesty prize for guessing closest to his actual weight, not difficult when you have caught less than 10lb. Young Jarrad even pointed out that even Rob Clayton caught more than that. Perhaps this was sour grapes as Jarrad hadn’t faired too well on the flier at the other end of the island. After the match Dagga was spotted in the race paddock trying to swop his kit for an old Lambretta.
The dishonesty prize went to Shane Fowler who owes everyone a Magnum ice cream, it has been noted.

ACE Downs
‘End peg’ Andy Kind had the top weight of 116lb from the end peg on Gerard’s bend.
Chris Allen had a great battle with Andy ‘the Fin’ Finlay on the dam in the Foundation with a tie at 58lb each. His travelling companion ACE Chris Downs has offered some of his new tablets that, according to Chris Allen, are working well and ACE is still stabilised. We also have a suicide watch for Chris Needham who disappeared from the Foundation Lake; we have assumed he is okay because his tackle was not on his peg.
The gale force wind played havoc on the big lake but made for awesome fishing on the Foundation Lake and Pool 1. Top weight overall was a brilliant 201lb by Rich ‘Scotty’ Morgan from the middle section of pool 1. The 20 anglers on pool 1 averaged 121lb per man - this would have been higher but Ringo pointed out that over practice Bob Eaton was last on the lake with 76lb and this lowered the average.

Kev Russell
Nasty Ward needed to take it out on someone and the poor old pensioner Bran Envis was the man in question. Brian weighed 100lb from pool 1. Mr Ward said ‘when the pensioner catches his second hundred pounds in two matches it must have been solid, I have asked him to buy me a lottery ticket and draw my peg next match’.
